Michelle Obama promises to be there to help Trump succeed as POTUS
First Lady Michelle Obama is promising that she and her husband,
outgoing President Barrack Obama, will do whatever they can to help
President-elect Donald Trump succeed in office.
The Obamas are supportive of the peaceful transition of power from a
Democratic administration to a Republican one, she added.
As Ive said time and time again, words matter, Obama said in an
interview broadcast Monday with host Oprah Winfrey. They matter most
to our kids. And the words that we say moving forward all of us it
matters, which is one of the reasons why Barrack and I are so
supportive of this transition.
Still, Obama refused to use Trumps name in the interview with
Winfrey, Politico reported.

No matter how we felt going into it, it is important for the health
of this nation that we support the commander in chief, she said.
Wasnt done when my husband took office, but were going high, and
this is whats best for the country. So we are gonna be there for the
next president and do whatever we have to do to make sure that he is
successful, because if he succeeds, we all succeed.
The interview showed a change of tone after she had been critical of
Trump in the past.
In a Friday morning excerpt of the first ladys exit interview,
Obama suggested that many Americans no longer have the hope that her
husband campaigned on in 2008 as Trump transitions to the White House,
telling Winfrey, Now, were feeling what not having hope feels like.
In a separate clip that aired Monday morning, Obama took a softer
tone, remarking that she followed Laura Bushs lead and told Melania
Trump when the two met privately at the White House, You really dont
know what you dont know until youre here, so the doors open.
Im not new in this going high thing, she added. Im modeling
what was done for me by the Bushes.
